Local Clothes for Local Kids

About SKCS

Salem Kids Clothing Swap is a semi-annual, donation-powered, free clothing event for children from infancy through preteen and built on a simple idea:
Our communities already have so much of what we need.

Inspired by another free children's clothing event on the North Shore, community Facebook groups, and the Buy Nothing Project; SKCS brings families together to share clothing, shoes, and seasonal accessories that kids have outgrown, but still have plenty of life left in them.

Held twice a year in the spring and fall, SKCS events are open to all local families. There are no income requirements, no proof of residency required, no need to donate in order to participate, and no judgment. Families can browse and choose what works for their children, whether they're looking to save money, find something special, or simply embrace a more sustainable way to shop.

The vision is bigger than free clothes. It's about keeping usable items out of the trash and textile waste streams, supporting local giving, increasing access, and building connections between neighbors.

Follow us on Facebook to stay up to date on our next event, clean out your closets, and reach out to donate. We look forward to seeing you around our city!

SKCS is not a registered nonprofit organization, therefore monetary donations are not tax-exempt.
